Congratulations to Bayern Munich for sealing their 22nd league title. They did so in style as they disposed of Hertha Berlin 3-1 with Olic opening up the scoring and Arjen Robben adding 2 goals of his own. This means whoever wins the Champions League final on May 22nd will conclude the season with a treble. This is of course assuming Inter can hold on to their 2 point advantage over Roma, which I believe they will.

A couple months ago I explained how the Serie A was in jeopardy of losing the privilege of having 4 teams qualify to the Champions League. For the longest time, Serie A, La Liga and the Premier League have had 4 teams qualify to the Champions League. Recently, Bundesliga has been creeping up on Serie A and are now threatening to overtake them as the 3rd strongest league in the world. It will all be determined on May 22nd when Bayern Munich face Inter Milan in the Champions League final.

If Bayern Munich manage to take the match to penalties, Bundesliga will overtake Serie A and in 2 years they will have 4 teams qualify to the Champions and Serie A will only have 3 teams. However, if Inter Milan win the match before it goes to penalties, the Serie A will be safe.
